1. VINEYARDS AT EVROS LAND

One of the most beautiful experiences of gastronomic interest here in Thrace, is the wine tasting in one of the many vineyards of our area, since the soil is suitable for quality grapes and wine production. Kikones, which is the first and only winery in the Prefecture of Rodopi with international recognition, is ready to welcome us, to introduce us to the wine tasting and to guide us to the winery.

2. ΘΡΑΚΙΚΗ ΓΑΣΤΡΟΝΟΜΙΑ ΣΤΟ ΒΟΡΕΙΟ ΕΒΡΟ

We will have the opportunity to experience the preparation of the products of a very distinguished local cooperative, and more specifically the one of the Triangle Women Agritourism Cooperative of the Prefecture of Evros, “GAIA”. We’ll join to the workshop to make homemade phyllo and bake delicious pies, like the Thracian women did in the old days and we will make other traditional Thracian products, such as couscous and ifkadia. We will cook the traditional recipes of trahana, kouskous and umats. In addition, with the help of the women we can learn the secrets of traditional homemade jam and spoon sweets.

3. ΕΜΠΕΙΡΙΑ ΚΡΑΣΙΟΥ ΣΤΗΝ ΠΟΛΗ

Our tour begins with a short city tour on foot in the capital of the prefecture of Evros, Alexandroupolis. After we will head to a specially designed and very beautiful place in the city center where we will have the opportunity to taste special wines of the area and distinguished labels in general, as well as to taste special flavors as an accompaniment. The purpose of our wine knowledge is to delve into the traditional Thracian cuisine and to get to know through gastronomy the heritage of this sacred place.

4. ΤΟ ΕΛΑΙΟΛΑΔΟ ΤΗΣ ΘΡΑΚΗΣ

Our tour begins with our visit to one of the most picturesque places in the area, the port of Makri, a fishing port located under the shadow of the cave of Cyclops. We will visit the best olive mill in the area located in Makri (a few kilometers outside the city) but also the most award-winning in whole Greece. We will have a tour in the olive mill infrastructure that is accessible to people with disabilities. After having tasted the award-winning olive oil with its many varieties specially flavored some of them, and the Thracian flavors perfectly combined with this oil, you will enjoy some fresh air and be photographed under thousand year old olive trees. An unforgettable experience that you can’t miss.
